Our Executive Team
The Industrious Kid’s executive team is comprised of highly skilled technology veterans with a wealth of experience from the consumer communications and networking markets.
Collectively, the executive team has both designed and successfully marketed numerous communications products, solutions and infrastructures and for some of the world’s most successful companies including Ascend Communications, AOL, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, MCI, Microsoft, PSINet, UUNet and Zhone Technologies.
Jeanette Symons was the founder, Chief Executive Officer and visionary behind Industrious Kid and imbee.com. Sadly, Ms. Symons, along with her son, perished in a plane crash in February 2008.
Prior to founding Industrious Kid, Ms. Symons co-founded Zhone Technologies, a telecommunications company that builds "last mile" access solutions, where she served as the company's Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Engineering. Prior to Zhone, Ms. Symons was Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice President of Ascend Communications, Inc., which Ms. Symons co-founded, from January 1989 until June 1999 when the company was purchased by Lucent Technologies (NASDAQ: LU).
She is survived by her loving daughter and parents.
Industrious Kid and imbee.com will continue to carry out Jeanette's vision. We do this to honor her memory and continue forward as a tribute to her and her son Balan.
Lori Brown is a founder and the Chief Operations Officer of Industrious Kid. Prior to Industrious Kid, Ms. Brown was the Vice President of Engineering Operations for Zhone Technologies a telecommunications company that builds “last mile” access solutions, where she oversaw component engineering, mechanical engineering, technical publications and the corporate release test lab facility. Previous to Zhone, Ms. Brown held the position of Vice President of Engineering for the High Speed Router Division of Ascend Communications. Ms. Brown holds a B.S. in Computer Sciences from Marycrest College, Davenport, IA.
Steve Rogers is the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development of Industrious Kid and father of three. Prior to joining Industrious Kid, Mr. Rogers held the positions of Vice President of Product Management and Vice President of Global Service and Support for Zhone Technologies. Previous to Zhone, Mr. Rogers held several software development, engineering management and product management positions within the access division of Nortel Networks. Mr. Rogers holds a B.S.C.E. and an M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
Ann Kveglis is a founder and the Director of Business Services for Industrious Kid. Ms. Kveglis specializes in vendor relations as well as operational and business systems management. Prior to Industrious Kid, Ms. Kveglis held numerous operational management positions at Zhone Technologies and Ascend Communications. Ms. Kveglis holds a B.A. in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) from Penn State.
